Truck of the week | Kenworth K200 the King of Australia

Image
Hello I hope all is well with everyone.  I was fortunate enough to stumble upon a fine individual on youtube who goes by  BlackWolf13.  Please go check out his channel he has a lot of awesome videos. Link to Bl@ckWolf Well shortly after finding his channel I saw this absolutely stunning truck.  I had been on a quest to locate and test out all the cabover mods available for American Truck Simulator. Well this find was a real treat.  I will say the Kenworth K200 is king in Australia but out here in the states I don't know that I have ever seen one in person.  They are such a beautiful truck its a shame we don't have them here.  I just went with the defaults.  There are tons of options to add.  There is a really cool rock guard you can add to the windshield.  I highly recommend you check it out for yourself and see what kind of customizations you can come up with.  I may have to buy a couple more.  These would be a fantastic truck to haul cattle into Mexico with.  Or perhaps we

How do I park these things? Let's check out the Rail Export Depot.

The Rail Export Depot. This is a small and compact depot with lots of options as far as parking.  There is usually obstacles galore so be patient not to ding up your truck or trailer.   For me the 3rd person view is the easiest view for me to use when parking.  Although the lean out the window is my personally favorite.  A lot of time I have the most fun trying to park these monsters.  Some days I got it while others it can take me what feels like all day.  So you know what they say?  Practice makes perfect.   So lets explore a depot and see how we can go about parking this trailer.  I will give you three examples based on some known parking and loading spots.   Sometimes I will just drive around looking for places to park that could be difficult.   What is your favorite depot to deliver to? Do you like to take the challenge of parking or do you just skip it?

Did you know you can go to Mexico? Reforma Map for American Truck Simulator

Image
Well that didn't take long at all.  The find folks over at Reforma Mod have updated so we can once again explore south of the border in American Truck Simulator.  I must say I really enjoyed my time spent in Mexico when I played before on version 1.49 I'm really excited to check it out. So you want to check it out yourself?  Ill show you where to go and what you need to do. First lets take a trip over to  Reforma Mods Here you will download two different files.  The Reforma Map and the Mega Resources Pack. You will be redirected to Truckymods.io don't be alarms this is a great place for mods and is a common depot to download the latest mods for ATS and ETS2.  Personally I get all my mods from either the Steam Workshop or TruckyMods.io Then its just as simple as copy and paste and you are off to the races. Make sure you place both the Reforma Map and MegaResources files into your Mod folder in your My Documents\American Truck Simulator folder. The last thing we need to do

My time in Nebraska.

My time in Nebraska Well SCS I have to start by saying I'm really impressed.  I really enjoyed my time driving all over Nebraska this weekend.  I was able to take a good amount of screenshots to share.  I also was able to go live over the weekend so I will be sure to include that also.  I was able to bring a long a old friend from version 1.49 the Freightliner FLB.  I hadnt driven this truck in some time so it was nice to get back in the saddle.     As I was exploring I stumbled upon a couple fellas fishing.  That was something new that I hadnt seen in game.  It was cool checking out all the new rest stops and new additions from architecture to new depots and all the RVs.  The new RV depots are a nice additon.  The new state brought a lot of cool new sites to see. I figured new state new truck.  So I had to hop back into the Kenworth T680 this truck is a real marvel. I enjoy the digital mirrors and the quiet cab ride.  Its really like a luxury truck. A little traffic jam due to con

In todays post we are going to explore headtracking for American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator.  This is a really cool way to gain more visibility in game.  For those who have tried its hard to go back.  For those with a single monitor setup it will greatly help you at intersections.  I use it all the time.  Check it out. Open track can be downloaded via the GitHub repo for the project Download the latest OpenTrack Taking a look at the Neuralnet Tracker settings we can choose our Camera.  Here in the dropdown you can select your camera.  I have tested with both webcams and using DroidCam both work really well. Head tracking doesn't require much. You can see its working off a very low resolution so most any webcams will work.  Outside of selecting your camera I leave all settings at default. Looking under the options menu then Game Detection you can reference your games here. Clicking the on executable field will allow you to select the exe for your game. Once you have yo

Lets take a look at SimHub this is a stellar application that shouldn't be ignored.  There is a lot you can do with it and you will learn very quickly its a awesome tool to have in your belt.  This is a great way to use old phones and tablets and external displays for information on your favorite support game. Check out this picture I have a speedometer cluster and one of my own dashboards running on a old phone and tablet. Here is an example of a couple dashboards I created.  This Dashboard displays all kinds of great information on both the game and my PC. I have a route advisor at the top so I can easily spot the next gas station, rest stop or service station.  Below I have everything from my FPS to where I'm going.  This dashboard has been my way of learning from the elders of Simhub.  This is actually a Frankenstein of many great dashboards  I have found over time.    Let's take a moment to see what's going on behind the scenes of SimHub. We will focus on the fue
